Running Side by Side

Hey folks!

Late-October is here, and I’m feeling the vibes of friendship a lot these days. Let me fill you in about my adventures with Anna.

You remember Anna, right? My new, totally awesome friend going through a messy divorce? Yeah, that’s her.

This month, our hangouts have bumped up a notch. Anna is leaning on me, and honestly, I’m loving being there for her. It’s not all rosy; she’s got her battles, but hey, who doesn’t? We’re all fighting our little wars. But together? We’re like a superhero team. Meeting Anna is the highlight of my days, and I’m digging this new depth in our friendship.

Our convos have swayed from our usual jokes and restaurant hopping to real talk, about life, pain, and bouncing back. It’s a refreshing change, you know?

It’s like we’re running side by side in this marathon called life, cheering each other on, providing water when the other is thirsty, and offering a shoulder when the legs feel wobbly.

Oh, speaking of running, we did hit the jogging paths together. It was hilarious, guys.

Anna, in her cute workout gear, puffing like a choo-choo train. But she did it, and we had a blast.

The run, followed by some hot coffee, and sitting close on a park bench to stay warm, was just what we needed. It wasn’t about the miles we covered; it was about the laughs we shared and the support we felt.

Seeing her off this morning, Anna thanked me, her eyes shiny with unshed tears.

I could see the storm she’s in, but you know what?

There’s sunshine breaking through those clouds, and I’m stoked to see her find her rainbow.

This friendship, unexpected as it was, is turning into a treasure.

Anna’s journey is reshaping my outlook, and I’m feeling supercharged to tackle my own chaos, my writing deadlines, and even my annoying roommate (Yep, he’s still a pain!).

I’m finding strength in unexpected places and a whole lot of joy in being there for a friend.

Here’s to Anna, to new friendships, and to finding strength in the unexpected! Can’t wait to see what the final pages of October bring!

K.
